Summers in the garden bring back memories of my family. I remember watching my grandmother picking fresh tomatoes from the vine and putting them in her apron that she held up like a makeshift basket. The smell of the bruised tomato leaves was like nothing else I can remember. The warm air and the golden sunlight...alive with the smell of freshly picked basil. Later that evening, the kitchen sounds and that wonderful smell of garlic and onion searing in a pan.
